DIY Balloon Tennis
Getting the wiggles out is no easy task when your little one seems to have an endless supply of energy! This simple DIY is a great source of entertainment and helps develop gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination. All it takes is a paper plate, popsicle sticks, and a balloon.
Tape a popsicle stick to a paper plate to assemble your tennis racquet and blow up a balloon to serve as your tennis ball.
HERE ARE SOME WAYS TO USE YOUR NEW TENNIS EQUIPMENT:
Pass:
Work on your little one’s gross motor skills by passing the balloon back and forth. You can use tape or chalk to make a mini tennis court. You can keep track of the score to work on counting, or just play for fun.
Keep it up:
For this game, everyone participating gets a balloon. Players try to keep the balloon in the air using their racquet. The person who keeps it in the air longest, wins.
Monkey in the middle:
This game needs 3 players. 2 using the racquets, and a “monkey” to be in the middle. The players try to keep the balloon away from the monkey. The player in the middle has to run, jump, and maybe even dive, to try and grab the balloon. Once the monkey captures the balloon, the players switch.
